Rouhani: Iran Never Seeks War with U.S.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday stressed that his country ”never seeks war" with the United States, he was quoted as saying during a phone call with this French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
"Iran has no interest to increase tension in the region and it never seeks war with any country, including (the) US," Rouhani said as reported by state news agency IRNA.
"We have always been committed to regional peace and stability and will make efforts in this respect," he assured.
The Iranian president accused the United States of stirring up regional tensions, saying that positive developments would have been witnessed in the region had Washington abided by the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.
