Rahi in his Easter Message: How Long Will Lebanon Remain Open to Every Bearer of Arms?

Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi on Saturday noted that "Officials devote their souls to political work, and if they do not accomplish their duties, they will keep being responsible of ruining the State, destructing its institutions, wasting its money, and impoverishing its people."

"MPs have many responsibilities, the most important of which is electing a President who can get internal and external confidence, and if they do not, the State's government will remain powerless, and Ministries and public administrations scattered," Al-Rahi said in his Easter message.

"How long will Lebanon remain open to every bearer of arms? And how long will its people bear the consequences of foreign policies that suffocate it day after day?" he asked.

"Don't officials feel ashamed seeing poor families while obsessing over unnecessary pretentious projects that require millions of dollars?" he went on saying.

"Corruption is spreading, and officials are scrambling to achieve personal and factional gains; so how can we trust our officials?" he added.
