Protests Set to Resume Next Week After Government Reneged on Its Commitments

The protests will resume again after the government reneged on its commitments and the grace period given by unions and teachers' associations has ended.

In this context, Al-Diyar newspaper reported that retirees were preparing to carry out a series of protests next week, along with depositors who have already taken steps on the ground and will not retreat.

Their protests will include various regions of Lebanon. Public drivers are also preparing for similar movements, while employees continue to work for one day a week.

The newspaper also noted that government meetings had not reached a decision to give employees fair salaries that would allow them to return to full-time work, and even the promised financial incentives have not yet reached those entitled to them.

Yesterday, teachers received text messages to receive some of their dues, but they were surprised after hours by new messages revealing errors in the schedules and delaying payments to new dates.
