PM-Designate Nawaf Salam Vows Swift Government Formation

President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam at the Baabda Palace.

Following the meeting, Salam stated: "I informed His Excellency the President about the outcomes of the consultations with the deputies and parliamentary blocs. I assure you that we are committed to working tirelessly, around the clock, seven days a week, to form the government and initiate the critical rescue efforts. The discussions with the blocs were highly positive."

He stressed that he would spare no effort to ensure the swift formation of the government.

Salam added: "I urged French President Emmanuel Macron to ensure the Israeli withdrawal takes place without any delay, as even the slightest postponement poses a threat to the country’s stability."

"The entire international community must exert pressure in this regard. We are counting on France’s support not only concerning the conference on Lebanon’s reconstruction but also in reviving previously unimplemented projects. Furthermore, we value France’s technical assistance in modernizing laws and enhancing institutional operations," he concluded.
