The Israeli Air Force carried out its largest coordinated strike against Hezbollah in Lebanon since the outbreak of hostilities, targeting roughly 100 sites across Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon in a span of ten minutes, the Israeli army said.

On March 2, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel – though the decision for it to do so was almost certainly made by Iran – carrying Lebanon into a new war with Israeli forces. On the same day, Lebanon's government declared Hezbollah's military and security activities illegal. Shortly thereafter, army commander General Rodolphe Haykal made it clear to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam that the military did not have the means to implement the government's decision. Now, the Lebanese army finds itself in an uncomfortable position.

The prices of 95 and 98 octane gasoline cans on Friday rose by 18,000 Lebanese pounds, while diesel increased by 4,000 Lebanese pounds. The price of gas cylinders remained unchanged. The prices are now as follows:
- 95 Octane Gasoline: LBP 1,690,000
- 98 Octane Gasoline: LBP 1,728,000
- Diesel: LBP 1,552,000
- Gas: LBP 940,000
