Acting Director General of Education, Imad al-Ashkar, revealed that the number of enrolled Syrian refugees in the afternoon shift has increased compared to last year, with 20,000 students joining the school seats.
He explained to "Annahar" that these numbers were related to the high birth rate among Syrian refugees compared to the Lebanese society, where the birth rate is said to be 1.2 births per Lebanese, compared to 6 registered births for Syrian refugees.
He reported that the number of Syrian students in both public and private sectors reached 265,240.
