No Cabinet Session this Week

There will be no cabinet session this week, according to ministerial sources. The Ministry of Finance will complete its work on correcting and increasing public sector salaries and present it to the ministerial committee in a decisive meeting before calling for a session next week.

Caretaker Prime Minister Mikati emphasized the need to address the issue of public sector salary corrections to maintain fiscal balance and avoid inflation and increasing deficits.

This is also part of the preliminary agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

He also noted that support for retirees was being studied separately to provide assistance to those who have served in various sectors, particularly in the military and security fields.
