Starbucks Cup Spotted in 'Game of Thrones' Scene

A misplaced cup of Starbucks coffee appeared at the most recent episode “The Last of the Starks” of HBO's hit TV series, Game of Thrones.

In an interview with WNYC radio, an executive producer on the show, Bernie Caulfield, apologized for the simple mistake before joking that “Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks.”

“Our on-set prop people and decorators are so on it 1,000 percent. We're sorry! If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape,” Caulfield said humorously.

In a statement, HBO confirmed that “the latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

Starbucks took the opportunity to market its popular dragon fruit-based thirst-quencher by suggesting in a statement that read: "We're surprised she didn't order a Dragon Drink."

“Starbucks, send us money!” Caulfield teased as fans took it to social media that the slip was actually an advertisement for the American coffee chain.

“Things can get forgotten on set,” art director Hauke Richter told Variety magazine.
