Macron and Biden Urge Urgent Ceasefire, Peace Efforts in the Middle East

French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President Joe Biden stressed the urgent need to restore peace and security in the Middle East during a phone conversation on Friday, as reported by the Élysée Palace.

The two leaders underscored the significance of a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

On the issue of Lebanon, France and the United States are working in close coordination to achieve a ceasefire along the Blue Line. Their objective is to facilitate the safe return of displaced individuals to their homes, in accordance with U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, while upholding Lebanon's sovereignty.
