Caretaker Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni signed the contract with Alvarez & Marsal to conduct full forensic auditing of all the Central Bank’s accounts, a government source revealed Wednesday.
“The Finance Ministry has just signed the contract with the company and mailed the original copy of the contract. We expect the firm to start its auditing work from the offices of the ministry very soon,” the source told The Daily Star.
Sources said that even if a new Cabinet is formed and a new finance minister is appointed, the new government is obliged to abide by the contract and not hinder the work of Alvarez.
