Kataeb party's Deputy President Selim Sayegh on Tuesday stressed that the government will never be formed according to the French initiative as long as Iran is in control of Lebanon, saying that everyone is playing the role of “extras” in the government’s formation process.

“We will not participate in an executive authority that is controlled by Hezbollah,” Sayegh told sawt Beirut International.

“Sanctions were imposed on the Free Patriotic Movement Head Gebran Bassil because he was accused of dealing with Hezbollah and covering up the party's illegal activities,” he said, accusing President Michel Aoun of turning Lebanon into a Persian farm.

Sayegh stressed that Hezbollah is the one controlling the country, deeming it as the axis of resistance.
