Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi on Friday deplored the dreadful situation prevailing over Lebanon today, accusing Lebanese officials of destroying the State instead of building it.

“All of you are responsible for the country’s current status quo with no exception,” Al-Rahi said addressing politicians.

“You do nothing except stealing people’s money with no return,” he added.

Al-Rahi stressed that people will always remain the source of authorities, stressing that the Lebanese have found their identity when the system of neutrality was proposed.

“Lebanon is a small country that cannot handle more war or being dragged into international alliances and conflicts,” he added.
