Travel Ban Lifted for Judge Bitar Ahead of Rhosus Shipowner Interrogation
Lebanon’s Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation, Jamal Al-Hajjar, has lifted the travel ban on Judge Tarek Bitar, LBCI reported, allowing him to travel to Bulgaria to question the owner of the Rhosus ship, who is currently in custody there.

Pope Leo XIV visited Lebanon this week, the third visit by a supreme pontiff to the country since John Paul II in 1997 and Benedict in 2012 (Pope Paul VI stopped very briefly in 1964, on his way to India). The fact that Lebanon is the site of the Pope’s first foreign visit (with Turkey) is significant. The country holds the highest percentage of Christians in the Arab world.

WATCH: Lebanese Pilot Executes Masterful Landing in Paris
Captain Samer Bassil successfully executed an exceptional landing in Paris today aboard Middle East Airlines flight 211, despite heavy fog that had prevented most aircraft from landing at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport.
However, the Lebanese pilot managed to perform a seamless and secure landing, setting him apart as other airlines struggled to land.
