Kfardebian, nestled in the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate and a mere hour's drive from Beirut's airport, has been honored as the "Arab Winter Resort Capital" for 2024 by the Arab Tourism Organization.
This distinction highlights one of Kfardebian's famous areas, extending from Wadi El Salib to the Mzaar summit, as an idyllic year-round destination for visitors.
The town encompasses several key areas including the Faqra neighborhood, Aayoun El Siman, its archaeological sites, and the town center, which is further divided into the castle area, the village, and the Wadi El Salib mountains. Lebanon was selected from among 22 Arab nations for this accolade, primarily due to Kfardebian boasting the largest ski slopes in the Middle East, along with a diverse range of accommodation options from 3-star to 5-star hotels, guesthouses, Airbnb, chalets, and hostels catering to skiing enthusiasts.
Kfardebian's culinary scene is equally varied, offering authentic Lebanese dishes as well as international cuisine and globally recognized restaurant chains, ensuring a broad selection for every palate.
The town is also known for its vibrant nightlife, adding to its allure as a premier destination.
What sets Kfardebian apart is its exceptional hospitality and welcoming atmosphere, which is unparalleled.
The area is also rich in archaeological heritage, visited by ancient Phoenician and Roman civilizations. The Faqra Temple, an architectural gem, is thought to have been built by the Romans over a Phoenician temple that dates back millennia.
The Faqra Temple is notable for its striking limestone formations, around 200 million years old, unique to Faqra and the nearby Baloue Balaa area.
Additionally, the ancient natural stone bridge, shaped over centuries by the waters of Nabaa El Laban, is another testament to the area's natural beauty and historical significance.
The announcement of Kfardebian's title as the Arab Winter Resort Capital will be celebrated with a special event this Saturday afternoon.
