Johnny Depp is making a notable return to the entertainment industry, having taken on several projects since the Amber Heardlawsuit.
He recently starred in 'Jeanne du Barry,' his first leading role since the legal battle and now he's directing 'Modi,' marking his first major directorial project in 25 years since 'The Brave.'
The film is currently being shot in Budapest, Hungary, with a star-studded cast including Luisa Ranieri, Riccardo Scamarcio, Al Pacino (who also serves as a producer) and others.
'Modi' centers around the life and career of Modigliani, a renowned painter and sculptor known for his modern, elongated portraits.
Set in post-war Paris, the film delves into 48 crucial hours in Modigliani's life, based on Dennis McIntyre's play 'Modi'.
Despite controversies surrounding his personal life and alleged rift with Disney over 'Pirates of the Caribbean', Depp continues to take on new projects.
'Modi' marks his return to directing, a role he previously took on in 'The Brave' in the late 1990s, featuring Marlon Brando and Clarence Williams III.
Meanwhile, Depp's fans can enjoy his portrayal of King Louis XVI in 'Jeanne du Barry,' which earned praise at the Cannes Film Festival.
