Italian FM Backs U.S. Efforts to Defuse Israel-Hezbollah Border Tensions

Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed concern over the escalating clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, emphasizing Italy's support for U.S. mediation efforts to stabilize the situation.

"In recent months, clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah have intensified. This situation highlights the close link between the military operations in Gaza and the rising tension in southern Lebanon," Tajani told the Italian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, adding that the renewed fighting in Lebanon coincides with the stalled ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel, as well as the onset of the Israeli offensive in Rafah.

The Italian FM outlined his country’s support for efforts aimed at defusing tensions along Lebanon's southern border, strongly backing U.S. mediation initiatives.
