Israeli fighter jets conducted airstrikes overnight on several border crossings and land routes between Lebanon and Syria, targeting what the military described as key corridors used to transfer weapons to Hezbollah.
The Israeli army confirmed strikes on the Arida Crossing, which links northern Lebanon with Syria, as well as several routes in the al-Qusayr area. Syria's state news agency reported that the Arida Crossing has been rendered inoperable following the attacks.
According to the Israeli military, the strikes are part of a broader effort to disrupt Hezbollah's Unit 4400, the division responsible for transporting weapons from Iran and its regional proxies to Lebanon. The operation is seen as a continuation of Israel’s strategy to counter Hezbollah’s military build-up and maintain a deterrence posture in the region.
