Three UN peacekeepers sustained minor injuries from an explosion near their distinctly marked UN vehicle in the village of Yarine in southern Lebanon on Sunday, UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said on Sunday.
“All peacekeepers in the patrol returned safely to their base,” the spokesperson said. “We are looking into the incident. We are strongly reminding all parties and actors of their responsibility to avoid harm to peacekeepers and civilians.”
Israeli drones carried out several aerial assaults on several targets in South Lebanon, including a residential house, local media reported.
Since morning, drones have been persistently patrolling the skies over Zahrani and Sidon.
Earlier in the day, an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle in the town of Shebaa, killing a Hezbollah member from the Kanaan family.
Two other individuals were also wounded in a strike on a house in Shebaa, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
Another drone strike hit the village of Aita al-Shaab.
Later during the day, Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets at sites in the Upper Galilee, with some of them being intercepted.
Israeli media reported that fires broke out in Beit Hillel following the impact of rockets fired from Lebanon.
Al Jazeera news channel also reported explosions of Israeli interceptor missiles in the skies over border villages in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon.
