The Israeli army carried out an airstrike in Beirut’s southern suburb on Monday afternoon.
Hours later, the Israeli military confirmed the death of Suhail Hussein Husseini, the head of Hezbollah’s logistical headquarters. Husseini, a key figure in Hezbollah’s military operations, was also a member of the group’s Jihad Council, its top military body.
According to the Israeli army, Husseini played a vital role in coordinating weapon transfers between Iran and Hezbollah. He was responsible for distributing advanced weaponry to Hezbollah’s various units, overseeing both the transportation and allocation of these arms. His logistical headquarters managed some of Hezbollah’s most critical projects, including war plans and special operations, such as coordinating attacks against Israel from both Lebanon and Syria.
Husseini was also involved in Hezbollah’s financial operations, managing the group’s budget for its military activities and projects. This included overseeing the group’s R&D operations, which are reportedly responsible for the development and production of precision-guided missiles.
