Israeli Army Braces for Possible Hezbollah Retaliation After Southern Lebanon Strikes

The Israeli military is preparing for a possible response from Hezbollah following overnight Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, Israeli army officials told Haaretz.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has also decided that Hezbollah operatives believed to be trapped in tunnels beneath the Ali Taher ridge will not be allowed to leave the area unless they surrender, according to the officials.

The ridge is considered a strategically important position in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military says Hezbollah has constructed extensive underground command-and-control facilities there.

The latest Israeli strikes came after Hezbollah launched an explosive-laden drone on Saturday that seriously wounded an Israeli military officer and two soldiers.
