Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Sites in Lebanon’s Hermel Region

Israeli warplanes struck the western ridges of Lebanon’s mountains in the Hermel region on Monday, hitting areas in the Bekaa plain and the outskirts of the towns of Halabta and Harbata, near the Nabi Musa shrine, as well as Zaghrine and Sharbine, according to local reports.

The Israeli army confirmed the airstrikes, saying they targeted Hezbollah military compounds in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley, including facilities used by the group’s elite Radwan Force. The army said the compounds were used to assemble operatives and store weapons.

“These sites were used by the Hezbollah terror organization for conducting training, preparing terrorists for planning and carrying out attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel,” the military said in a statement.

The Israeli military added that the camps were used for weapons training, including shooting drills and other exercises intended to prepare militants for attacks.

“The use of these sites to store weapons is a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and poses a threat to the State of Israel,” it said.
