Israel Says Intercepted Drone Approaching from East, Iraqi Pro-Iran Claims Responsibility

The Israeli military said it intercepted a drone approaching from the east over southern Israel in the Dead Sea area on Tuesday.

“A UAV that crossed into Israeli territory from the east was intercepted by the IAF (Israeli air force),” the military said in a statement, without specifying the drone’s origin.

Later on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of pro-Iran armed groups, claimed responsibility for the drone attack.

The group said its fighters had carried out a “drone attack on a vital target in the south” of Israel, claiming it was the sixth such attack on Tuesday alone.
