Israeli military officials are preparing for multiple scenarios along the northern front with Lebanon, amid signs that Hezbollah is increasing its presence and rebuilding its capabilities, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.
Israeli intelligence has reportedly detected heightened Hezbollah activity in several key areas, including northern Litani, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Beirut. The militant group is said to be working to restore its elite “Redwan Force” and recover weapons from storage sites previously targeted by Israeli airstrikes.
Maariv reported that Hezbollah is pursuing a dual strategy: quietly rebuilding its strength while avoiding direct confrontations with Israel.
Citing Israeli officials, the newspaper added that Israel “will not allow a repeat of the October 7 experience with any hostile entity along its borders,” underscoring the country’s determination to prevent any escalation on its northern front.
