Iranian Embassy Congratulates Lebanon on New President

The Iranian Embassy in Beirut has congratulated Lebanon on the election of General Joseph Aoun as the country's new president, hailing the "atmosphere of broad national consensus" surrounding the election process.

"We look forward to working together to strengthen the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon, and to collaborate across various sectors that serve the mutual interests of both countries," the embassy said in a statement.

The embassy further expressed its commitment to fostering stability and prosperity in the region, aligning with Lebanon’s broader goals.

Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani, who attended the presidential election session along with several foreign ambassadors, extended his congratulations to the Lebanese people on the election of President Aoun. He also underscored the importance of continued consensus in the new government’s approach, especially as Lebanon faces ongoing challenges.

"The consensus should remain central to the new government's strategy in confronting the persistent threats to Lebanon," Amani noted.
