Ibrahim: We Are Witnessing the Process of Preparing a Bomb that Would Explode Later in Lebanon

Major General Abbas Ibrahim warned against the danger of continuing the presidential vacuum, saying that the most dangerous part in it is the internal inability to find solutions to major problems.

"We must not look abroad and bet on regional events to get out of the crisis. The vacuum has increased the burden on general security, but we are determined to pass this stage by fortifying civil peace and stability and upholding the logic of dialogue," Ibrahim said in an interview with  "Arabi 21".

He revealed that there was an external decision to prevent Lebanon from initiating security tensions and chaos.

Regarding the displaced Syrians' repatriation file, he said:"This is an Arab-international file, and returning them to their land is a national duty that we must perform quickly so that they do not lose their land and history."

"Arab countries are not dealing with this file and the international community refuses their return, they are prolonging their stay in Lebanon and trying to integrate them into the societies that host them, and this all leads to the fear of settling them later. We are witnessing the process of preparing a bomb that would explode later in Lebanon, and no one will pay the price for its repercussions and fragments except the Lebanese and Syrian people," Ibrahim explained.
