Hezbollah Targets Israeli Jets with Anti-Aircraft Missiles for First Time in 8 Months

Hezbollah operatives fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli fighter jets over southern Lebanon on Sunday, marking an escalation in the ongoing border conflict, the Israeli army announced.

The statement, released on Monday, stressed that it is the first time that Hezbollah has used anti-aircraft missiles against Israeli jets in Lebanon since the conflict began eight months ago.

Shortly after the missile launch, an Israeli drone struck the Hezbollah cell that was firing the weapons, the statement added.

The Israeli Army also announced on Monday that fires erupted following the launch of six anti-tank missiles from Lebanon, reporting damage across several towns in the Upper Galilee.

Israeli artillery targeted the southern Lebanese town of Marwahin as well as the outskirts of Yaroun with heavy shells.

On the other side, Hezbollah announced targeting two buildings in the Manara settlement, where Israeli soldiers are stationed, as well as a building used by Israeli soldiers in the Yaron settlement, and another one used by the Israeli Army in the Avivim settlement.
