Time-Restricted Eating Contributes to Less Cancer Tumor Growth

After a recent research identified obesity as a risk factor for cancer, a new study found that prevention may also be more about when a person eats his meals.

Researchers at the University of California in San Diego recommend choosing the right timing for meals may prevent tumor growth, saying that time-restricted eating can mitigate cancer risk more than calorie restriction.

"Time-restricted eating may be more successful than calorie restriction in controlling the negative effects of obesity, due to the hunger and irritability that makes it more difficult to stick with long-term calorie restriction," explains the study's lead researcher Manasi Das.

The results of the study, conducted on mice, revealed that obese rodents on time-restricted diets experienced much less tumor growth than mice who ate unrestrictedly.
