Hankach Praises Taekwondo Athlete Laetitia Aoun: Another Milestone for Lebanese Athletes

Kataeb Lawmaker Elias Hankach wrote on "X" platform: " We take pride in our taekwondo athlete, Laetitia Aoun, who achieved a significant accomplishment for Lebanon by advancing to the semi-finals of the Olympics, even though she was unable to win a medal. She certainly deserves one in 2028."

"This is another success added to the record of Lebanese athletes who always strive to raise Lebanon's name high!" he added.

Lebanon’s Laetitia Aoun achieved a significant milestone by securing 5th place in the women’s 57kg Taekwondo category at the 2024 Olympics, marking her debut on the Olympic stage.

Aoun began with a win against Taipei’s Chia-lin Lo with a 2-0 score. She continued her strong performance in the quarterfinals by defeating Macedonia’s Miljana Reljikj. In the semifinals, Aoun faced Iran’s Nahid Kiyanichandeh and lost 2-0, which led her to the bronze medal match. There, she competed against Canada’s Skylar Park but was defeated 2-0.
