Former Minister and Writer Sejaan Azzi Passes Away

The former minister, writer, and former Kataeb member Sejaan Azzi passed away today, at the age of 71, after a long battle with illness.

The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi visited Azzi in the intensive care room at the Lebanese American University Medical Center - Rizk Hospital.

Here is a short bio:

-  Sejaan Milad Azzi born in Oqueibeh, Ftouh-Kesrouan on November 6, 1952.

-  He married Dania Halim Baroud with whom he has twin daughters, Aude and Joy.

-  He joined the Lebanese Kataeb Party while very young and fought in its ranks.

-  He was the Vice President of Kataeb Party President Amine Gemayel since 2010.

-  He received his education at the Apostles Institute, Jounieh, and holds a BA in philosophy from USEK, Kaslik.

- He studied Political and Administrative Sciences at USJ, while working as a journalist in a number of media outlets, such as Al-Amal newspaper, Television Loubnan (the French channel), Al-Jarida newspaper, and the magazines Al-Jadeed and Magazine. ".

- In 1975, he headed the news department of “Voice of Lebanon” radio station, before founding “Free Lebanon” radio station in 1978 and running it until 1986.

- In Paris, he issued the MIB publication in French, which was concerned with the Middle East’s strategic affairs. Then, in 1986, he founded the “General Organization for Studies and Consultations” SOGETCO, working in the field of political and economic risks, in Paris.

- He published four books, two under the press, and dozens of lectures in universities and intellectual, and social forums in Lebanon, Europe, and America.

-  He has several studies in French.
