Formation of Joint Committee to Study Lebanese Army Needs, Especially in South Lebanon

A gathering in Paris between Army Commander General Joseph Aoun and the leaders of the French and Italian armies was held and characterized as constructive.

The meeting followed up on discussions from a previous session in Rome, where General Aoun presented a comprehensive assessment of the logistical and material requirements of the Lebanese Army.

During the Paris meeting, the commanders from France and Italy examined the Lebanese proposal and offered further insights.

Sources from LBCI suggest that deliberations will primarily center on devising a plan of action to bolster the capabilities of the Lebanese Army, especially regarding its operations in the southern regions.

A collaborative committee involving Italy, France, and Lebanon, among other nations, will be established to evaluate these requirements and devise strategies for their fulfillment. This initiative will be preceded by a political commitment to establish a ceasefire in the southern areas, with France and Italy spearheading this effort.
