Fayad: TotalEnergies May Give up Part of the Qana Field

Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayad considered that the border demarcation agreement was a historic achievement, saying that it will enable Lebanon to become one of the gas-producing countries.

“The agreement does not constitute in any way a kind of normalization,” he stressed during an interview via Arab TV.

“French company TotalEnergies may give up part of the Qana field after the completion of exploration operations,” he added.

He also indicated that Lebanon was not concerned with any numbers or information received from the other side about the Qana field.

“Lebanon will get his whole share of the Qana field,” Fayad concluded.
