Education Minister Orders Nationwide School Closures over Israeli Attacks

Caretaker Education Minister Abbas Halabi announced the closure of all public and private schools, technical institutes, the Lebanese University, and private higher education institutions on Wednesday.

Administrative and preparatory work in schools, secondary schools, and technical institutes, both public and private, will also be suspended.

The decision was made in protest of what Halabi called “the criminal act committed by the Israeli enemy against civilians, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries.”

Halabi extended his condolences to the families of those killed and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

The minister called for an end to what he described as the "Israeli killing machine, which shows no mercy and makes no distinction, having committed an unprecedented massacre against the Lebanese people."
