Fuel Prices Increase in Lebanon

New fuel prices announced by the Energy Ministry on Tuesday show an increase in the cost of gasoline, diesel and cooking gas.

Here’s what we know:

    • The price of 20 liters of 95-octane and 98-octane rose by LL23,400 and LL24,200 reaching LL374,800 and LL387,600 respectively.

    • Diesel fuel increased by LL33,000 reaching LL393400. The price of a tank of cooking gas rose by LL26,200 and now costs LL345,500.

    • George Brax, a spokesperson for gas station owners, told L’Orient Today that he attributes the price increase to the worldwide increase in fuel prices as well as the devaluation of the Lira against the US dollar, which today reached LL32,000 on the parallel market.
