Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon: State Without President Falls Into Permanent Paralysis

The Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon stressed in a statement on the necessity of electing a new president of the republic as soon as possible as a State without a president falls into permanent paralysis.

The Council drew attention to the importance of reaching a real dialogue that would prove reconciliation between the Lebanese, noting that reconciliation was supposed to take place after Taif Agreement, by purifying the memory and setting an action plan to reach a real dialogue.

“Openness does not mean dissolution and preservation of pluralism and idiosyncrasies does not mean isolation,” it read.
