Britney Spears Granted Restraining Order Against Former Confidante

Pop singer Britney Spears has won a restraining order against a former confidante who has been allegedly harassing, threatening and disparaging her family on social media.

44-year-old Sam Lutfi has been ordered to stay away and not contact any of the singer's family members.

This is the second restraining order against Lutfi since 2009.

“Mr. Lutfi’s actions have caused severe mental trauma at a time where Ms. Spears is recovering from stress related to her father’s health and her work. Mr. Lutfi’s unjustified interference in her life ... threaten Ms. Spears safety and well-being,” the judge’s documents pointed out.

Lutfi’s attorney, Marc Gans, affirmed that his client has not contacted Spears since 2009.

“We are disappointed at the outcome. I think it is overly broad and violates Mr. Lutfi’s constitutional rights,” Gans said in a statement.

“This is a temporary order, and we look forward to coming back,” Gans added.
