Madonna on Sunday revealed the name of her upcoming 14th album, posting an Instagram video depicting the background idea behind the title.

"I decided to call my record 'Madame X'," Madonna says in the video, adding that the name reflects her alter ego.

The Queen of Pop depicts Madame X as "a secret agent", adding hat her alter ego has many identities: "A dancer, a professor, a head of state, a housekeeper, an equestrian, a prisoner, a student, a mother, a child, a teacher, a nun, a singer, a saint, a whore."

"The spy in the house of love, I’m Madame X," she concluded the snippet.
