Simpsons Producers Pulling Popular Michael Jackson Episode

A famous episode of “The Simpsons”, featuring Michael Jackson’s voice, will be pulled from reruns amid sexual abuse allegations against the late singer.

“It feels clearly the only choice to make,” the show's producer James L. Brooks told The Wall Street Journal.

The 1991 episode, "Stark Raving Dad", features the voice of Michael Jackson as a character of a mental hospital patient, named Leon Kompowsky, who believes he is the king of pop.

Brooks said that he took the withdrawal decision, along with the show's two other creators Matt Groening and Al Jean, after watching the "Leaving Neverland" documentary in which two men claim that Jackson had repeatedly abused them sexually during their childhood.

“The documentary gave evidence of monstrous behavior," Brooks said, describing it as "convincing" and "heartbreaking".

“I’m against book burning of any kind. But this is our book, and we’re allowed to take out a chapter,” he stated.
