Deputy Speaker of Lebanese Parliament Elias Bou Saab on Wednesday said that the holding the municipal and mayoral elections has become "almost impossible".

 "Logistically, the municipal elections are difficult to conduct, but nobody is admitting that it is impossible to hold them," Bou Saab said after joint house committees' meeting.

“I will submit today a proposal to extend the mandate of the municipal and mayoral councils for four months. I call Speaker Nabih Berri to convene the joint committees to discuss this bill in as soon as possible,” he added.
