After the opposition agreed on the name of the former Minister, Jihad Azour, House Speaker Nabih Berri stated in response to a question on the next step, “I will call for a session for the council; however, the date will be assigned after reviewing what has been said by the Deputies, Michel Moawad and Mark Daou and in light of my schedule.”
Berri clarified in an interview with “Al-Liwaa” newspaper that he is carefully studying the timing.
Regarding his assessment of the positions of the deputies and whether the process of electing a president will be prolonged, he said, “Unfortunately, there is no consensus in the country, and when it happens, matters become clear.”
