Bassam al-Sheikh Hussein, a depositor who held Federal Bank workers hostage in Hamra to get his blocked money, disclosed at a press conference held by the Cry of Depositors Association on Thursday that he would begin talks with the Federal Bank to demand the recovery of the remaining 137,000 dollars of his deposit.
According to Hussein, the bank manager insulted him that day, so he went to his car, got a gun, and got some gasoline. He then went inside the bank, told the customers who were there to leave, and shut the entrance, holding a number of employees hostage.
Last Tuesday, Public Prosecutor Ghassan Ouiedat decided not to press charges against Hussein or require him to make a promise.
