Al-Rahi Urges the Republic to Elect a New President Before Aoun’s Mandate Expires

Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, on Sunday, chaired the mass in memory of the Lebanese resistance martyrs, which was held at the Church of Our Lady of Ilige in Mayfouq village.

"Resistance is not limited to using weapons; it also entails maintaining integrity, unwavering allegiance to Lebanon, morality and values, as well as upholding the country's message and model thereof,” Al-Rahi emphasized during his weekly sermon.

He reiterated his call for the establishment of the state of Lebanon, the formation of a new viable government, and the election of a president of the Republic by October 31.

"The president shall meet all the criteria in which the Lebanese are unanimous,” he continued.

“We demand that the courts be shielded from any politicization or dependence on those in authority, and we have set our sights on safeguarding the investigation into the port explosion,” Al-Rahi concluded.
