Abdollahian Expresses Iran's Willingness to Support Lebanon's Electricity Sector

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian expressed Iran's willingness to support Lebanon's electricity sector.

"We officially confirm that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to rehabilitate power plants in Lebanon or build new ones," Abdollahian said following his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib.

"It was a good opportunity to talk about the bilateral relations and issues of common interest. We discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs the best ways to strengthen bilateral relations between our two countries on financial and economic and commercial levels, and this cooperation reflects positively on the peoples of both countries," he added.

He also affirmed Iran’s support for the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance to Israeli aggression.

"We do not interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs and we welcome the dialogue between all Lebanese parties to fill the presidential void," said Abdollahian, adding, "We are fully convinced that the Lebanese political parties are wise enough to elect a president as soon as possible.”
