Berri Meets World Bank Official to Discuss Reconstruction and Calls for Loans to Revive Key Sectors

Lebanon's Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, met with Jean-Christophe Carret, the World Bank's Country Director for the Middle East, in Ain el-Tineh to discuss reconstruction efforts, focusing on debris removal and rebuilding infrastructure.

The discussions also covered the restoration of health, education, economic, industrial, agricultural, and public sector facilities.

Carret expressed the World Bank's commitment to working closely with the Lebanese government to ensure the effective implementation, execution, and sustainability of these initiatives.

Berri commended the World Bank's willingness to assist and its active role in Lebanon's reconstruction, particularly in addressing the impacts of Israeli aggression.

He requested further details on the World Bank's plan and emphasized the importance of incorporating land reclamation and providing loans to farmers, industrialists, and small business owners to aid their recovery, aiming for completion by the end of the year.
