Former Lebanese President Michel Aoun considered on Monday that it is the right of every political group to have a presidential candidate without resorting to defamation, threats, or exaggeration.

"Our system is democratic, and our constitution guarantees freedom of opinion. Therefore, it is the right of every political group to have a presidential candidate without resorting to defamation, threats, or exaggeration,” Aoun tweeted.

“Respecting others and their rights is essential for national unity and coexistence. Those who truly care about their country must uphold these principles,” he added.
